Exciting Nursery Expansion: Welcoming children from their third birthday
Posted: 28th April 2025
We are delighted to announce an exciting expansion of our Nursery provision, offering an enriching early years experience for children from the age of three. Currently, we accept children into Nursery in the September after their third birthday. However, from September 2025, we will have an expanded, rolling admissions process, meaning that children can join straight after their third birthday.
Our new structure means that children who have just turned three can join Nursery in our new 2 class model. In Nursery, children take part in a range of engaging activities that are suited to their age and interests, with more focus on Reception readiness as they approach this transition. We have made this change in response to feedback from the our current and prospective parents, many of whom wanted their child to be able to join Nursery sooner, especially if they already have siblings in our Pre-Prep or Prep School.
Our newly expanded Nursery will have two spacious, purpose-designed classrooms, complete with resources that encourage creativity, independence, and learning through play. The classrooms will have access to a dedicated outdoor space and children will also benefit from use of our excellent school facilities. Full day Nursery is available from 8.30 am – 3.30 pm with optional wraparound care when children are ready, and potential for half days if required.
In our Nursery, children are taught by a qualified teacher, which research suggests leads to better outcomes for young children. As the children get older and progress through the Nursery, they will start to take part in specialist lessons in Music, French, PE, Dance and ICT, taught by subject experts, and enjoy weekly visits to the school library. This prepares them perfectly for life in Reception, where they continue specialist lessons with the same teachers. Our dedicated team of highly trained staff guide and inspire the children through a range of activities that nurture curiosity, problem-solving skills, and social development, including regular Forest School style outdoor learning sessions, which the children thoroughly enjoy!
