Physical Education & Games

Sport is an important part of life at Kew College Prep. We want our pupils to leave prep school having enjoyed as wide a range of sports as possible, either through our school curriculum or through our extra-curricular clubs. We believe that exposure to sports can boost self-confidence and social skills, and we encourage our pupils to develop their physical and fitness in both team and individual sports.

Our Sports department regularly arranges matches and tournaments with other schools, and all our children get to experience the thrill and challenge of playing as team members, irrespective of sporting ability.

Reception and Infant School  (Years 1-2)

Children in Reception and the Infant School have their dance and Games lessons at school and at The King’s School sports grounds. They develop fundamental skills in balance and coordination through ball skills and games and have fun preparing themselves for the whole school Sports Day in Summer.

Junior School (Years 3-6)

Junior School pupils have dance, swimming, and two Games Afternoons each week. Games take place at the King’s House Sports Ground in Chiswick and swimming takes place at Pools on the Park in Richmond. We participate in Borough and National fixtures and all our students can represent Kew College Prep in netball, hockey, rugby, football, cricket and swimming.
